Saturday Night

Today, my boyfriend of almost eight months tried to ditch me twice. Once when he asked his friend to call him if he was doing anything later. He then said if his friend did call he would take me home. The second time was when we were driving back from eating dinner he asked if he could take me home so he could hang out with his brother for the night and play halo. Now I’m home on a Saturday night spending quality time with my dog, who loves my boyfriend more then she loves me.

Almost exactly one year ago it was the the Friday of dead week (the week before finals) when I had planned to study for my finals with my ‘then’ boyfriend. He was on his way over to my house when I made a mistake that will always stay with me.

One week before this event, I had a plate full of pancakes and put an extra amount of syrup on my plate. After I was finished with the pancakes there was an extra amount of syrup left on the plate. I placed the plate on the edge of my desk and left it there for a few days. On Thursday I had one of my first soccer practices for a team I had just joined. I was running late to practice and had placed my water bottle on my desk. When I reached to pick it up I slid it across my desk which caused the plate to crash onto my hardwood floor and break into hundreds of tiny porclin pieces. I ran out the door and left my floor covered in shardes of porclin to clean up later.

On that Friday while I sweeping my hardwood floor as my sundress swayed in the wind because the early summer heat in my room was too much to bear so I had opened my windows up onto my porch. As I swept the floor I acsidentaly stepped on somthing with my bare foot. As usual, I lifted up my foot and tried to whipe whatever was on my foot onto my leg inorder to gt it off. This was because I assumed it was dirt and I usually did this to whipe things off. As my foot went down my leg I felt a deep scratch into my leg. When I placed my foot back on the ground I looked down at my leg. That was when I saw a deep cut in my leg that went about six inches down my shin. The shock had already set in and i dropped the broom and held my skin together with both my hends. I screamed for my mother, who happend to be a nurse. She ran into the room and made the connection after she saw the cut on my leg and the pieces of porcline on the floor. Then she looked at me with the most bafline look and asked me “How did you break an unbreakable plate?” After we got home from the ER where the doctor put thirteen stitches in my leg, we looked at the reminance of the plate and saw that the bottom read Correll.

The website known as FML (F*** My Life) started out as a blog and has grown into a major website that is visited daily by thousands of people. This website offers you different categories to choose from in the area of embarrassing stories or details of a bad day. You can spend hours reading all the posts and laughing all day because the amusement never ends. Although this website offers endless amusement, when posting a story to share, you are limited to what you can say. They only allow you to post a certain amount of words. Also, before every post they add in “today”.

The Blushers blog gained inspiration through the FML website. Its vision is to allow readers to post there own stories however they want and to give them the freedom to use as much space that they feel is necessary to get the full blushers effect.
